How to Update APN Settings on iOS or Android

IMPORTANT: Updating the APN is not required, unless specifically provided in your eSIM Activation Email. If you have any doubts, please Contact Us before making changes to your settings.

To update the APN (APN Name) for your eSIM plan, please follow the steps below.


Update APN on iPhone / iPad (iOS)

  1. Open Settings and go to Cellular (it may be called Mobile or Mobile Service) 
  2. Tap your eSIM plan, which may be called Travel, Secondary, Mobile Data, or something else.
  3. Tap Cellular Data Network.
  4. In the APN fields, enter the name provided in your activation email or by Zingotel Mobile Support. If there is anything in the Username and Password fields, delete it. Only the APN/Name is required.
  5. Tap < Connect at the top left to save the configuration.
  6. Turn on Airplane Mode and wait 30 seconds, then switch off again. This will force the device to re-connect to the cellular network.

Please wait up to 15 minutes for the eSIM data plan to successfully authenticate and begin receiving 4G LTE or 5G data.


Update APN on Android

  1. In your phone's Settings, go to Mobile & Network
    • On Samsung, go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks
  2. Tap the eSIM plan, then go to Access Point Names
  3. Tap Menu, then tap New APN
  4. In the first field called APN, enter "globaldata" without quotes. If there is anything filled in username or password, delete it. Only the APN name is required.
  5. Return to the previous screen and select the new APN.
  6. Restart the device to reset the mobile network.
